moroGOro

I just finished a week long training session in Toronto preparing to go to Tanzania. I've been living with Tyler and Andrea who also just moved here. Glad to have a place to stay with great friends.

These are the other teammates going to Tanzania; Lonny, Julia, Carla and Katie. High energy and excited like I am.

500 Miles? Try 5000 Kilometres!

So my bags are packed and I'm not ready to go. It's hard to describe such a wonderful city with all it has to offer. I will miss it. Maybe I'll be back sooner than I think. The sights, the sounds, the people, all helped make this summer one of my best.

Either way, I was off to start my week long drive back to Windsor. This trek would take couple side routes to visit some friends along the way.

My first stop would be in Burnaby just outside Vancouver to visit Kalie, who I met out in St. Andrews, New Brunswick a few years earlier. She recently started school out there and we timed it perfectly to meet up. She just moved into a new townhouse and with the help from a few of her friends had great house warming party. Great fun.

From Burnaby, the Sea to Sky highway leading from Vancouver to Whistler, found me stunned. The views are unbelievable! And everything is under construction with the 2010 Winter Olympic Games just around the corner. In Whistler I was able to visit Jessica, also a good friend from the East Coast.

After Whistler, I made a stop in Jasper to visit the friends I made last year, Jarid, Sam and Ali. It definitely wasn't the same, but it was great to see them. From Jasper, a quick drive to stay with Ricky in Edmonton, who is an old school buddy from Windsor. Guys got a pad, a BBQ, a guitar and cigars. Who needs more?

With no more friends along the way, I tried to get home as soon as possible, back to my bed. With a total of 5000km, I had made it.
